Our Team at EHN

Our inter-professional team is made up of compassionate and dedicated individuals from all walks of life. In fact, many of them are in recovery. They’ve been there, and they understand what a patient is going through.

They are physicians, psychiatrists, addiction counsellors, and nurses. They are certified fitness/recreation staff, dieticians, and nutritionists. They are chaplains, support staff, and admissions coordinators.

Every recovery team is tailored to meet the needs of the patient:

For example, if one stayed at Bellwood for alcohol addiction, the team might consist of Dr. Weiss to oversee detoxification and medical care, Laura as an individual therapist, David to lead group therapy and Wendy as a physical fitness instructor. Their loved ones could attend a family program with Lana at our outpatient clinic in Toronto.

If a patient received treatment at Edgewood for drug addiction and depression, they might have psychiatrist Dr. Vincent to manage their depression, Debra as a counsellor, and Amiee to lead their morning therapy group. At night, Nurse Doreen could address any physical concerns, while evening counsellor Ben might help with assignments and support. Brent would ensure that they would be connected to a counsellor or an EHN outpatient clinic for long-term follow up care in their home city.

At Waterstone for bulimia, a patient might have Lauren for group and individual therapy, in addition to overseeing meal time, and dietary technician Dyna to help with nutrition information and meal planning.

The connective thread? All of them excel at what they do. And they are here for any patient, for as long as they need help.
